Help me!

Hello, I’m Mario, and welcome to my site. You can read my about page to see why I’ve created this site and who I am.

As you’re probably well aware, Microsoft really screwed the pooch with the Xbox 360 hardware design which have caused the red ring of death (rrod), the e74 error, the “flashing red lights” etc. Instead of recalling all of the units, they’ve decided to extend the warranty for the three red light issue and e74 issue to three years (all other issues are the standard warranty).

If you’re still under warranty, you should send your xbox to Microsoft an have them fix it. They’re always changing the hardware types (the latest hardware revision is called “Jasper” and runs much cooler and quieter). My personal belief (and this is based on the units I’ve received back from them) is that Microsoft is taking your xbox 360 and sending you back a refurbished one which may or may not be a Jasper based unit. I know this because the ones I get back have different DVD drives in them and normally have DIRT in them (I know!).

That being said, if you aren’t under warranty, you have two options.

  1. Pay $99 (USD) to Microsoft and have them fix/refurbish your unit
  2. Fix it yourself

If you’re here, chances are you want to save some money and do the job yourself.

Now I know you’ve probably been to countless other websites that want to charge you anywhere between $20-$40 to fix your xbox yourself.

There’s a MAJOR problem with these guides. Can you think of what the problem might be?

See what the problem is.

Hello and thanks for visiting. If you at all found this fix useful in solving your Xbox 360 red ring of death problems, please take a minute to donate. Even a dollar helps. Thanks.
